Ampati: The Meghalaya Koch Students’ Union (MKSU) held its General Meeting on Sunday at the Koch Cultural Centre-cum-Museum at Ghasura, Ampati in South West Garo Hills district.
The session was marked by a heartfelt tribute to legendary singer Zubeen Garg and the formal approval of new office bearers and the and Executive Committee of the Union as per the resolution adopted in the previous meeting.
Members paid floral tributes to Zubeen Garg, recalling how his melodious voice and cultural contributions inspired generations. They expressed confidence that his legacy would continue to guide and influence the youth in the years to come.
The meeting also addressed various issues concerning the Koch community, with members underscoring the importance of unity, collective efforts, and active participation to resolve them.
President Kandarpa Koch formally approved the list of office bearers and executive members. Vice Presidents Pratibha Koch and Nilendu Koch, along with Luto D. Koch, were present at the session.
The newly approved committee includes General Secretary Nobo Koch; Joint Secretaries Bireswar Koch, Bhomikanando Koch, and Bijoy Koch; and Organising Secretaries Dipu Koch, Sekor Koch, Nilkamal Koch, Amid Koch, Prarthona Koch, Hiron Koch, Himadri Koch, and Shanu Koch. In-charge Secretaries and representatives from zonal bodies also pledged their support to strengthen the Union’s activities.

The meeting concluded with a collective call for unity among Koch youths, students, and well-wishers to strengthen the organisation and carry forward its mission.
