Imphal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur on September 13 to launch and inaugurate development projects worth around Rs. 8,500 crore, officials confirmed on Thursday.
This will mark Modi’s first trip to the state since the outbreak of ethnic clashes between Kukis and Meiteis in May 2023, which left more than 260 people dead and displaced thousands.
According to officials, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for projects worth Rs. 7,300 crore from Peace Ground in Churachandpur, a Kuki-majority district that was among the worst hit by the violence.
