New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out simultaneous searches at 22 locations spread across five states and Jammu and Kashmir as part of its ongoing investigation into a terror conspiracy case, officials said.
According to sources, nine locations in Jammu and Kashmir, eight in Bihar, two in Uttar Pradesh, and one each in Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu were targeted during the operation.
In J&K, the raids covered Baramulla, Kulgam, Anantnag and Pulwama districts.
The searches are aimed at unearthing evidence related to the conspiracy and identifying individuals involved.
Details of the operation are expected to be shared once the raids conclude.
The crackdown comes months after one of the deadliest terror strikes in recent times in Jammu and Kashmir, when gunmen attacked tourists in Pahalgam, killing 26 people and leaving several others injured.
Among the victims were a Navy officer and an Intelligence Bureau officer.
