Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday thanked the Indian Army and Assam Rifles for jointly conducting the first-ever drone exhibition at the Assam Rifles Ground in Agartala.
“Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, our defence sector has been strengthened with self-reliant and cutting-edge warfare technology,” CM Saha posted on X.
He said the use of modern drone technology has seen remarkable growth in combat situations and counter-terrorism operations.
Saha stated, “Today, at the Assam Rifles Ground in Agartala, I had the privilege of attending a joint drone exercise by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles, where I encouraged the jawans and officers and witnessed an impressive display of advanced warfare tactics and drone maneuvers.”
Various types of drones were seen flying with explosives and AK-47 Rifles at the Assam Rifles ground. An anti-drone defence system was also displayed.
“A defence system that can seize, destroy, or capture drones used by enemies was also displayed,” the chief minister said.

“We saw drones capable of carrying explosive materials and firing weapons. Such demonstrations are very necessary for Tripura. Today’s exercise has proved that we are prepared, protected, and secured, and it has also instilled confidence among the people,” he said.
