Itanagar: The Lower Siang District Administration of Arunachal Pradesh has taken strict action against liquor retail outlets that failed to adhere to prescribed working hours and violated government-notified ‘Dry Days’.

The move is part of an ongoing effort to enforce discipline and accountability under the Arunachal Pradesh Excise Act of 1993.

Rujjum Rakshap, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Collector Excise, Lower Siang district, reiterated that compliance with the Arunachal Pradesh Excise Act 1993 is not only a matter of regulation but also a responsibility towards the health, safety, and well-being of society.

As a result of this enforcement drive, 24 liquor outlets were fined, and 14 were temporarily sealed to ensure compliance with the law.

The move highlighted the government’s commitment to upholding transparency, fairness, and justice.

He said that by enforcing the law firmly, the administration has sent out a strong message that no violation will be tolerated.

The DC appealed to all stakeholders to work together in building a law-abiding, healthy, and progressive district.

The operation was carried out by a dedicated Excise Team under the leadership of Kojar Nake, Superintendent of Tax, Excise & Narcotics, Lower Siang. The administration emphasizes that this action serves as a reminder that all businesses and individuals must follow the law to create a more responsible and law-abiding society.
