Agartala: The Tripura government assigned three key departments to newly inducted state cabinet minister Kishor Barman on July 11.
A notification was issued on Friday by the General Administration (Confidential and Cabinet) Department of the Tripura Government.
As per the official order issued under the provisions of Rule 5 of the Rules of Executive Business of the Government of Tripura, the Governor, acting on the advice of the Chief Minister, has assigned Kishor Barman the charge of three important departments: Panchayat, Higher Education, and General Administration (Political).
The order was issued by Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha and has been circulated to all concerned administrative departments, including the Governor, Chief Minister, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, and other key offices.
Additionally, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and the Chief Secretaries of all States and Union Territories have been informed of this ministerial assignment.
This decision is seen as a significant move, especially with the inclusion of Higher Education and Panchayat, two critical sectors for grassroots development and youth empowerment in the state.

Kishor Barman, the BJP MLA from Nalchar constituency, was sworn in as a Cabinet Minister on July 3. With the induction of the new minister, the strength of the cabinet of Chief Minister Manik Saha rose to 12.
