Guwahati: Manipur BJP MLA Y. Khemchand Singh on Saturday said the Central Government is continuing its efforts to restore peace and stability in Manipur, over two years after ethnic violence first broke out in the state on May 3, 2023.
In an official statement, Singh highlighted the recent seizure of a large quantity of illegal arms and ammunition by security forces during search operations in both the valley and hill districts.
He said these ongoing efforts are key to maintaining law and order and have helped restore a sense of security among the public.
“The Ministry of Home Affairs is also actively engaged in peace talks with leaders from various stakeholder groups, including civil society organisations. These dialogues have played a vital role in supporting the peace process,” Singh stated.
He credited Union Home Minister Amit Shah for taking a responsible and measured approach to the complex crisis.
