Tura: A one-day training program on verification of Aadhar cards was conducted for BSF and police personnel, enumerators of the Election Department and Certificate Branch personnel of DC’s office at the DRDA conference hall in Meghalaya’s Ampati on Wednesday.
Organized by the District Administration, South West Garo Hills, the training program was necessitated in view of increasing misuse of fake Aadhar cards for illegal cross-border movement and identity fraud.
In fact, the training program was conducted on request by the BSF authorities manning the Indo-Bangladesh border area in South West Garo Hills district, who felt the urgent need for training and awareness among the field personnel for the detection and verification of fake Aadhar cards.
The training programme, chaired by ADC Ampati, Dolrich B. G. Momin, was also attended by Assistant Commissioner Meai Kyrpang and officials of the Planning department, among others.

Key resource person of the program was Nazibul Islam, Project Manager of Regional Office, UIDAI, Guwahati, who imparted training on verifying the authenticity of Aadhar cards with the use of UIDAI website, mAadhar App and Aadhar QR scanner App.
