New Delhi: Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has drawn public ire for featuring Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3.
The movie, directed by Amar Hundal and produced by White Hill Studios and Story Time Productions, comes amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives.
Diljit shared the film’s trailer on Instagram on Sunday night, announcing that its release, initially slated for India and overseas, will now be limited to international markets on June 27.
The decision to skip an Indian release has fuelled negative reactions, with many accusing the actor of insensitivity and aligning with anti-national sentiments.
Social media platforms have been flooded with backlash.
“Disgusted by him. So all the allegations against him being a separatist are kinda true, I feel. What a shameless person he is,” wrote one user.
Another remarked, “Never spoke a word during the war… now we know why… I liked him but the opinion is now changing highly.”
Critics have also linked Diljit’s silence on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor to his collaboration with a Pakistani actor.

Comments such as “Boycott Diljit!” and “Take Diljit out from Border 2” were widely shared. Other users called his actions a betrayal, stating, “They need support from the whole country, but when it comes to giving, it’s only in favor of one state.”
Amid the controversy, Sardaar Ji 3 introduces Diljit as a ghost hunter assigned to exorcise a spirit from a haunted mansion in the UK.
