Guwahati: Assam Royal Global University (RGU) has partnered with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to introduce two scholarship programmes aimed at supporting the education of dependents and wards of CRPF personnel.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the university announced the launch of the ‘Royal Shaurya’ and ‘Royal Suraksha’ scholarships.
These initiatives aim to ease the financial burden on families of security personnel and ensure access to quality education for their children.
According to RGU Academics Registrar D.N. Singh, the ‘Royal Shaurya’ scholarship will provide full tuition support to families of CRPF martyrs and gallantry award recipients.
Meanwhile, the ‘Royal Suraksha’ scholarship offers a 50% tuition fee waiver for dependents and wards of CRPF personnel.
“These scholarships are applicable to programmes regulated by statutory bodies such as AICTE, COA, PCI, INC, ANMHVC, BCI, or other similar councils,” Singh explained.
The partnership was formalized with an agreement between RGU and CRPF. Deputy Inspector General of CRPF Manas Ranjan expressed gratitude to the university for this thoughtful initiative.

“These scholarships will be immensely beneficial to CRPF families, particularly as frequent transfers often disrupt the education of children. This effort is a step toward addressing that challenge,” Ranjan said.
The initiative reinforces RGU’s commitment to community support and reflects its acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by security personnel in service to the nation.
