Itanagar: In a show of patriotism and unity, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, along with BJP leaders and cabinet colleagues, led the Tiranga Yatra at Walong in Anjaw district on Tuesday.
The army personnel, local leaders, and the public also joined the chief minister in the Tiranga Yatra.
Taking to X, CM Pema Khandu wrote, “Ahead of the historic Cabinet Aapke Dwar, led the Tiranga Yatra at Walong with my Cabinet colleagues, local leaders, Army personnel, and the spirited local public.”
“The patriotic fervour at this easternmost frontier rekindled our love for the nation and strengthened our collective resolve to stand in unwavering support of our brave defence forces,” he added.
The Yatra culminated at the Walong War Memorial, where tributes were paid to the valiant jawans who made the supreme sacrifice while defending the nation during the 1962 war.
“May their courage continue to inspire generations,” he said.
The event was marked by patriotic chants, flag-hoisting and cultural performances by local groups.
Later, the chief minister also chaired the historic sitting of Cabinet Aapke Dwar at Kibithoo in Anjaw district.
He stated, “Together with my colleagues, we are working diligently to arrive at key decisions aimed at the welfare of our people, strengthening government departments for efficient service delivery, boosting revenue generation, and advancing our mission to make Arunachal Atmanirbhar.”
