Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh’s Omang Dodum is among the 25-member Indian squad for the South Asian Football Federation U-19 Championship, 2025.
The championship will be held from May 9–18 at the Golden Jubilee Stadium, Yupia.
Congratulations to Omang Dodum from East Kameng on being selected for the Indian squad in the SAFF U-19 Championship 2025. Carrying forward the sporting legacy of his father, former footballer Kage Dodum, Omang is a true inspiration for our youth,” Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu posted on X.
Khandu said, “Wishing him and Team India all the best for a successful tournament!”
Dodum was selected for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup, Thailand in 2023. The 18-year-old striker plays for the ISL team Punjab FC.
The India team arrived in Itanagar on Wednesday ahead of the championship.
All India Football Federation treasurer Kipa Ajay, who is also the secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Football Association, welcomed the Indian squad at the Donyi Polo Airport.
Arunachal Pradesh will make sporting history by hosting its first international football tournament.
Hosts India will face Sri Lanka on May 9 and Nepal on May 13 in Group B.
Maldives, Bhutan, and Bangladesh are in Group A.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals that will be played on May 16. The final will take place on May 18.
