Guwahati: The Guwahati traffic police have announced new traffic restrictions and diversions near the Cycle Factory area, effective from April 23, 2025.
The new routes and traffic regulations have been announced due to the proposed foundation work of the Cycle Factory Flyover, spanning from Cycle Factory to Birubari Tiniali.
According to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), the changes will remain in place until further notice.
As per the new traffic regulations, vehicles will not be allowed to move from the Cycle Factory towards Birubari Tiniali.
The stretch from Birubari Tiniali to Cycle Factory will remain one-way, with vehicles permitted only to travel from Birubari Tiniali towards Cycle Factory.
Vehicles travelling from Ambari Tiniali towards Cycle Factory Tiniali on F.A. Road will be diverted in front of Fatasil Ambari Police Station via Bishnupur Road towards Bishnupur Tiniali. Besides, no vehicles will be allowed from Bishnupur Tiniali towards the Cycle Factory.
Further, the stretch from Fatasil Ambari Police Station to Bishnupur Tiniali and from Bishnupur Tiniali to under Aaryanagar Flyover will be declared as a ‘No Parking Zone’ on both sides until construction is completed.
These measures will help manage the high volume of vehicles, especially during rush hours.
The authorities have urged commuters to cooperate and comply with the revised traffic guidelines to prevent inconvenience and ensure a smoother flow of traffic. Moreover, the authorities have urged citizens to stay informed and plan their travel accordingly.

Despite the temporary inconvenience caused by these changes, the flyover project is expected to improve traffic flow significantly in the long term.
