The Indian Army has successfully completed ARMEX-24, a challenging high-altitude adventure expedition that highlighted the endurance and operational excellence of its personnel.
The 28-day mission, including an acclimatisation phase, covered 146 kilometres through dense jungles in North Bengal and the snow-clad heights of Sikkim, concluding on April 14, 2025.
The expedition spanned 18 days of rigorous trekking, with participants navigating steep gradients, unpredictable weather, and rugged trails.
The team of 20 specially selected military personnel demonstrated exceptional physical and mental resilience, traversing varied terrains that ranged from sub-tropical jungles to altitudes exceeding 14,000 feet.
A senior Army official described the initiative as a reflection of the force’s ethos of perseverance and discipline.
The official emphasised that such ventures not only sharpen leadership and camaraderie but also instil mental toughness essential for operational readiness.
The success of ARMEX-24 underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to maintaining high standards of preparedness through realistic terrain-based training.
