Agartala: Atlanta D Shira, a 28-year-old bodybuilder from Meghalaya’s Garo Hills, emerged victorious at the National Physique Championship (NPC) Tripura Championship 2025, held in Agartala on Sunday.
The competition, organised under the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB), featured various categories, including Junior Bodybuilding, Men Physique, Bikini, and Senior Bodybuilding.
Shira clinched gold in his category, solidifying his position as one of India’s rising fitness icons.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma celebrated Shira’s success, commending his discipline and hard work.
“Congratulations to Atlanta D Shira on winning Gold in Body Building at the National Physique Championship (NPC) Tripura Championship 2025. Through sheer discipline and dedication over the years, Atlanta has worked his way to becoming a fitness icon in Garo Hills and an inspiration to many fitness enthusiasts. He also won the NPC Rajasthan Championship in March. Well done, Atlanta!” the chief minister said.
Shira’s rise in the bodybuilding world has been marked by consistent triumphs.

Before venturing onto the national stage, he dominated state-level competitions, winning the Mr. Meghalaya title in 2022 and 2023, and earning the Iron Man of Meghalaya crown in 2021.
The NPC Tripura Championship is part of the NPC Worldwide events leading to the NPC Nationals in Pune on May 18.
Shira, along with other top competitors, will compete for one of 11 coveted IFBB Pro Cards at the Pro League Qualifier scheduled from May 30 to June 1, 2025.
