Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday launched an affordable meal service at GBP Hospital in Agartala, offering meals at just Rs. 10 to the attendants of admitted patients.
The initiative, spearheaded by the hospital’s Rogi Kalyan Samity in collaboration with the Rotary Club, aims to provide 100 meals daily, with the possibility of increasing the quantity based on demand.
“GBP Hospital is the state’s premier healthcare facility, and many visitors from rural areas struggle to find affordable food while attending to their loved ones,” Saha said at the launch event. “This initiative ensures they receive a nutritious meal at a nominal cost.”
The Rs. 10 meal includes vegetables, dal, and an egg. Indoor patients at the hospital continue to receive food free of cost.
Saha also announced plans to establish a shelter home in Agartala to accommodate people traveling to the capital for medical or other needs.
