GUWAHATI: Trainees of five special battalions from the Assam Police Commando marked the completion of their intense 40-week Phase I training today.
Conducted under the aegis of the Gajraj Corps of the Indian Army’s Eastern Command, the training, which took place at seven prominent locations across Assam and Meghalaya, is aimed at transforming the recruits into a formidable defense unit ready to tackle any internal security challenge.
Out of the total 2284 trainees, 273 were lady commandos and 269 sub inspectors, including 15 female officers. The Indian Army provided state-of-the-art infrastructure and top-tier instructors at various training nodes to the trainees.
The culmination ceremonies, spread across the training locations, were not just formalities but also a time for celebration. Cultural performances added to the spirit of achievement, and camaraderie were on full display as commandos, instructors, and distinguished guests shared stories, experiences, and bonded over their shared journey.
Under the rigorous routine crafted by the Gajraj Corps, these commandos were shaped into a highly skilled and disciplined unit. The trainees, now accomplished commandos, are all set to reinforce the Assam Police’s capabilities and strengthen their preparedness against potential internal security threats.
This milestone not only showcases the resilience and skill of the trainees but also highlights the remarkable coordination and collaboration between the Assam state police and the Indian Army.
