Guwahati: An unidentified body was recovered near Lokhra Road in Guwahati on Wednesday, prompting an immediate police investigation.
The deceased is suspected to have been murdered and dumped at the location by unidentified assailants.
It has been confirmed by police that the deceased is a male.
However, details regarding the potential cause of death are currently unavailable.
“We are working to identify the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding this incident. We urge anyone with information to come forward and assist with our investigation,” Police said.
Police have cordoned off the area and are conducting a thorough examination of the scene.
The body remained unidentified as no identification documents were found.
The body has been sent to the forensic medicine department of Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem examination.
