New Delhi: Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Science & Technology, inaugurated the Inclusive Technology Business Incubator (iTBI) at Assam down town University (AdtU) during the National Science Day celebrations held at Vigyan Bhawan on Friday.

The event, attended by distinguished dignitaries including Prof. N.C. Talukdar, Vice Chancellor of AdtU, Prof. Sunandan Baruah, Director of DISA, AdtU, and representatives from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), marked a major milestone in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the Northeast region.

As part of the iTBI initiative, AdtU has been granted ₹4.73 crore by the DST to support technology startups focusing on the healthcare and ICT sectors.

The initiative aims to provide infrastructure and incubation support to researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs, bolstering the startup ecosystem in the region.

Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Singh emphasized the importance of harnessing technology to drive economic growth and commended AdtU’s efforts to nurture talent and innovation in the Northeast.

University representatives expressed optimism about the potential of the iTBI project to catalyze impactful innovations and contribute to building a sustainable and vibrant entrepreneurial landscape.

This milestone reflects AdtU’s continued commitment to empowering startups and fostering a culture of innovation in alignment with national priorities.
