Taking to their official X handle, Manipur police said, “Police has started crackdown against shop owners selling black films from four-wheelers. Police have appealed to the vehicle owners to remove the black film from their vehicles voluntarily.

“It is strongly advised to car accessory shop owners to surrender such black film rolls to the nearest police station,” police said.

The police further stated that failure to comply would result in strict legal action as per the Supreme Court’s order under CWP 265 of 2011 and Section 100(2) of the Motor Vehicle Act.

The police have reiterated that the enforcement drive will continue to enhance road safety and security.

Meanwhile, security forces conducted search operations and area domination exercises in vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts.

During one such operation, a significant cache of weapons and explosives was recovered from a river bank at Hiyanglam Natekhong Thongjin, Kakching District.

The recovered items include two single-barrel guns, a modified sniper rifle with a scope, a country-made pistol (without magazine), five 36 hand grenades, four improvised explosive devices (IEDs) of varying weights (approximately 1 kg, 2 kg, 900g, and 1 kg), 15 live rounds of .303 rifle ammunition.
