Guwahati: The Guwahati Traffic Police has announced traffic regulations for National Highway 27 for the Guwahati Marathon on Sunday (February 9) at Sarusajai Sports Complex.
The marathon will be held in the stretch between the endpoint of the Basistha flyover (Khanapara side) and the endpoint of the Garchuk flyover (Jalukbari side) on National Highway 27.
Starting at 3:00 AM, traffic regulations will be in effect on NH-27 to facilitate smooth traffic flow.
These regulations will ensure clear passage for all vehicles, including free passage to emergency vehicles like ambulances, and fire tenders, among others.
The regulations have also been directed keeping in mind the safety of the common public.
As per the travel advisory, the vehicles coming from the Khanapara side towards the Jalukbari side will move in their normal carriageway on NH-27.
The vehicles plying in the service lane from Khanapara towards Jalukbari will be diverted at the approach of Beharbari Flyover (opposite Brahmaputra Bazar) towards the main carriageway of NH-27.
The vehicles coming from Jalukbari towards Khanapara will move in their normal carriageway on NH -27 up to the approach of Gorchuk flyover from where they will be diverted via the Service Road.
This diversion will continue up to Lokhra Chariali under-bridge from where the vehicles will be re-directed towards Khanapara via the service lane on the southern side, i.e., opposite of Sarusajai Sports Complex up to Beharbari Flyover under bridge.
From Beharbari Flyover under-bridge the vehicles will again be re-directed on the service lane on the northern side, i.e., Beharbari towards Khanapara.

This diversion will continue up to the end point of Basistha flyover where the vehicles will again take their normal course on the main carriageway of NH-27.
The entire service road on both sides of NH-27 from Gorchuk to Koinadhora will also be earmarked as a No Parking zone. No vehicle will be allowed to ply in the service lane in the opposite direction of the normal traffic flow. However, emergency vehicles will be exempt from these regulations.
