Imphal: Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Monday launched the ‘Addiction Free Manipur Campaign’ at Raj Bhavan in Imphal.
Organized by Brahma Kumaris, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), the initiative aims to address the growing issue of substance abuse across the state.
Speaking during the launch of the ‘Addiction Free Manipur Campaign,’ the Governor urged the implementation of preventive measures and awareness campaigns to address addiction.
He has called upon the people, particularly the youth, to come together to combat the menace of drugs and contribute towards achieving a developed India (Viksit Bharat) by 2047.
Governor Bhalla also praised Brahma Kumaris for their commendable initiative towards a drug-free India.
The campaign aims to raise awareness, mobilize communities, and engage vulnerable groups to combat addiction.
Governor said the issues of drug abuse and addiction are one of the many challenges that require community participation and collaboration between governmental and non-governmental organizations.

He praised the NMBA’s nationwide efforts to combat substance abuse across 372 districts in India.
