Guwahati: Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya inaugurated the “Livestock and Poultry Expo-2025” at Khanapara on Sunday, an event organised by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary.
The expo brought together farmers and young entrepreneurs from across the state, offering a platform to showcase and sell their produce while promoting self-reliance in the sector.
Speaking at the event, Governor Acharya emphasised the significance of such expos in empowering farmers and entrepreneurs.
“This expo is particularly meaningful as it coincides with the festivities of Bhogali Bihu, a celebration of abundance and prosperity,” he remarked.

He discussed the “Assam Dairy Development Scheme,” which targets the production of 1 million liters of milk daily.
