Guwahati: Four distinguished individuals from various fields in Assam have received an invitation to attend the prestigious ‘Republic Day at Home-2025’ event at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on the occasion of 76th Republic Day.
The invitees are Parbati Baruah, an animal conservation activist; Ravi Kannan, cancer specialist at the Cachar Cancer Hospital; and social activists Premananda Biswas and Bhimlal Mishra.
Abhishek Jain, Director of the Assam Postal Circle, stated that approximately 250 guests from diverse backgrounds across India, including beneficiaries of government schemes, are being invited to the event.
Jain said, “It is one of the most prestigious events hosted by the President, where the invitees will participate in the Republic Day celebrations, followed by a formal gathering.”
The Assam Postal Circle, which has been entrusted with the responsibility of delivering the special invitations, successfully delivered the invitation to Parbati Baruah on Wednesday.
The delivery of the remaining invitations to the respective invitees will be completed on Thursday.
The invitation package showcases unique handicrafts from the southern region of India.

The invitation card, crafted from bamboo and adorned with exquisite Kalamkari art from Andhra Pradesh, is presented in a beautiful box. The package also includes a collection of regional treasures.
The “At Home” ceremony has been a key feature of both Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
It is an opportunity for people from various walks to meet the Prime Minister and the President and to interact with each other. They all get a sense of participation in the function which the parade does not give.
