Assam: The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB)-2025 has invited students from North-Eastern states to register for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025, a gateway to India’s premier engineering institutions.
This initiative aims to empower the region’s youth by offering access to world-class education and career opportunities in engineering and technology.
Registration for Session 2 of JEE Main 2025 begins on January 31, 2025, and closes on February 24, 2025.
Eligible candidates can find details and instructions on the official website: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/information-bulletin/.
JEE Main, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), provides admission to 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 26 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 3 Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs), 37 Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), and IIEST Shibpur.
These institutions, known collectively as the NIT+ system, are celebrated for their robust academic programs, cutting-edge infrastructure, and strong industry connections.
To encourage participation from the North-East, CSAB will conduct dedicated counselling rounds, including the CSAB-NEUT round, which reserves seats in AICTE-approved institutes for students from states and Union Territories lacking technical education facilities.
This effort addresses regional disparities and supports aspirants from the North-East in achieving their academic goals.
Highlighting the significance of JEE Main, Prof. K. Umamaheshwar Rao, Chairperson, CSAB 2025, said, “The North-East is home to talented young minds with immense potential. I urge students from the region to seize this opportunity to transform their aspirations into reality through JEE Main. Success in this prestigious examination can open doors to a bright future in science and technology.”
Institutions in the North-East include NITs in Agartala, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, and Silchar, as well as IIITs in Guwahati, Manipur, and Agartala, and government-funded technical institutes like Tezpur University and North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong.
With over 2,000 seats available under state quotas and additional seats through the NEUT category, JEE Main 2025 offers students multiple opportunities to secure admission to top-tier institutions.
The counselling process, conducted by JoSAA 2025 and CSAB 2025, ensures a transparent and accessible pathway for candidates.
