Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has announced that a team from the Reliance Group of Industries would visit the state soon to explore potential investment opportunities.
Addressing the Janajati Ekta Sammelan at Khumulwng, the chief minister shared his meeting with Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani in Mumbai.
He said that they discussed potential investments in Tripura, particularly in tourism and bamboo-based ethanol production.
“I visited Mumbai and met Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Group. I requested him to consider visiting Tripura as our state has immense potential, including opportunities in tourism and bamboo. We discussed for 45 minutes, during which he assured me that a team would be visiting soon,” CM Saha said.
Saha highlighted that Tripura has already partnered with Tata Group to enhance 19 government-run industrial training institutes (ITIs) with an investment of Rs 700 crore over the coming years.
The Chief Minister also mentioned his discussions with Bharti Airtel concerning the establishment of a data centre in Agartala.
According to Saha, Airtel has agreed to this initiative, further boosting the state’s investment-friendly environment. He emphasized that Tripura is free from terrorism, making it unique not only in the northeast but across India.
The Chief Minister also stated that the Northeast region, once plagued by terrorism and violence, witnessed significant transformation under BJP’s leadership. He ascribed this transformation to the signing of multiple accords and the advent of peace in the region.
He said that Tripura’s peaceful environment is a primary factor in attracting investments.
He further said the state government is focused on the development of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
Reliance Industries’ interest in exploring investment opportunities aligns with Tripura’s vision for economic progress.
