Itanagar: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is scheduled to visit Arunachal Pradesh on November 30 for a daylong trip, marking his second tour to the state since assuming office.
During the visit, he will attend the 22nd convocation of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) for the 2023-24 academic session.
Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) (formerly Arunachal University) is the oldest university in Arunachal Pradesh. It is located at Rono Hills in Doimukh town, about 28km from the state capital, Itanagar. The foundation stone for the university was laid in 1984 by then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The university was renamed as Rajiv Gandhi University in 2005.
The Vice-President will also address the Special Assembly Session of Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly at Itanagar during his visit before returning to New Delhi.
Meanwhile, Assembly Speaker Tesam Pongte on Thursday chaired the second meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) to plan the agenda for the upcoming one-day session on November 30.

The meeting was attended by state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pasang D Sona, Deputy Speaker Kardo Nyigyor, and BAC members Nikh Kamin, Thangwang Wangham, and Oken Tayeng.
The last time Dhankhar visited the northeastern state was in February 2024 to attend the Statehood Day celebrations.
