GUWAHATI: The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Assam Police will be merging their expertise together to ensure security, peace and prosperity in the Northeast region.
Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Rashmi Shukla, who is on an official three-day visit to Frontier Guwahati Sonapur from August 6, discussed ways to develop smooth coordination between the agencies during a meeting with Director General of Assam Police, GP Singh, on August 7.
Later in the day, she visited Sector Headquarters SSB Rangia and 24th Bn Hqr, Rangia, where she conducted another review meeting and participated in a Sainik Sammelan. In her speech, she motivated the force personnel to confront challenges with unwavering strength and determination.
The DG of SSB also visited Darranga Bhutan gate in Tamulpur and engaged in interactions with the Superintendent of Police and District Commissioner Samdrup Jongkhar and jawans stationed at the gate. During another Sainik Sammelan at the Border Outpost (BOP) Daranga, she inquired about various welfare-related matters, particularly focusing on the welfare of the Mahila components deployed on the international border.
On Sunday, Shukla was warmly welcomed at Frontier Headquarters Sonapur, Guwahati, with a Guard of Honour. She conducted a thorough review of the work and security preparedness along the Bhutan Border and issued necessary directives to ensure utmost efficiency and effectiveness in operations.
On the first day of her visit, the Director General had met Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma and on behalf of the force, presented the Chief Minister with a memento and a sapling as token of appreciation.
