SHILLONG: In a significant move towards enhancing the educational delivery system in Meghalaya, the Job and Career Newspaper Group, a leading Northeastern publishing house, has launched the revised edition of the Meghalaya Teachers Eligibility Test (MTET).

Designed to upgrade teaching skills and cater to aspirants preparing for this competitive examination, the revised MTET Paper-I covers key subjects such as Child Development, Pedagogy, Environmental Studies, Science, Social Studies, as well as the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage 2022, among others.

The revised MTET thus marks a step forward in empowering educators, contributing significantly to societal progress as they shape future generations. Candidates from the state now have the opportunity to prepare for both CTET and MTET examinations as the availability of MTET Paper-I is extended at various book stalls and can also be procured by contacting 94351-17039 on working days between 10 am to 5 pm.

The National Curriculum Framework, integrated into the MTET revision, is rooted in the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This vision aims at transforming India’s school education system positively, emphasizing improved curricula and pedagogy.

Teachers play a pivotal role in shaping our children’s future and, by extension, the future of our nation. Their profession, both challenging and rewarding, holds a place of high esteem in society. The Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) serves as a minimum qualification for teachers, setting national standards and benchmarks for teacher quality in the recruitment process.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), entrusted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, is responsible for conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), ensuring a merit-based, fair, and transparent examination process.

With the inclusion of Garo and Khasi languages in the Central TET by the CBSE, the Meghalaya Government furthers its commitment to fine-tuning the socio-economic landscape of the state and broadening employment opportunities for its educated youth.
