Guwahati: Rajasthan Royals have retained six players, including Assam’s Riyan Parag, ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction in November.
The Rajasthan Royals announced their retained players on Thursday, unveiling a roster that combines promising young talent with experienced cricketers.
Other players include Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer and Sandeep Sharma. Retaining these six players will cost the Royals Rs 79 crore from their overall Rs 120 crore purse.
Riyan, who made a significant impact during IPL 2024, has been retained by the Rajasthan Royals for a substantial fee of Rs 14 crore.
With 70 matches under his belt across six IPL seasons, Riyan has evolved considerably since his initial acquisition in 2022 for Rs 3.8 crore. He is now considered a crucial all-rounder for the Rajasthan Royals.
Riyan’s impressive season, which included a debut in India’s white-ball team earlier this year, has solidified his reputation as one of India’s most promising cricketers.
His impressive performances on the domestic circuit- including the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Deodhar Trophy, and Ranji Trophy – have also captured the selectors’ attention.
The 22-year-old all-rounder, to date, has represented India in nine T20 matches and one ODI, where his highest T20 score is 34. As a bowler, he has claimed three wickets in his ODI appearance and four wickets in T20Is.

Sandeep had an impressive 2024 season, taking 13 wickets. Jaiswal did not perform as well last season as in 2023 but remains a key player for the Royals.
