The Space Club, a joint initiative by ISRO and the Science India Forum Saudi Chapter, was inaugurated at 10 International Indian Schools in Saudi Arabia with an aim to promote space science among Indian students in the Gulf.
This marks ISRO’s first international project, aimed at promoting space science education and engaging Indian students in the Gulf region with India’s advancements in space exploration.
The inauguration took place last week, with both online and offline ceremonies held simultaneously. Students gathered in specially arranged halls in all participating schools. Biju Mullassery, the National President of the Science India Forum Saudi, presided over the event.
Former ISRO Chairman Dr Kiran Kumar delivered the keynote address, focusing on the significant milestones and challenges in space exploration, along with its commercial potential.
Focusing on the purpose, design, milestones, challenges, and commercial aspects of space exploration, Physical Research Laboratory (ISRO) Director Dr. Anil Bhardwaj explained various aspects of space exploration programs to the students.
Dr B N Suresh, Chancellor of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, encouraged the students to consider a career in space science and emphasized the importance of science and emphasized the importance of science and mathematics.

The Science India Forum’s organizers described the initiative as a significant step in promoting space science education among Indian expatriate students in the Gulf and inspiring future scientists and engineers.
