Guwahati: The Kamrup Metro District Administration and Traffic Department have issued various traffic restrictions and guidelines for the upcoming Durga Puja festivities in Guwahati.
Traffic restrictions have been announced from October 9 to October 13, 2024, to ensure public safety and facilitate smooth passage for emergency vehicles.
All goods-carrying vehicles can enter the city only between 4 AM and 12 Noon during this period.
Multiple areas will have no entry restrictions from 2 PM to 2 AM. Dr RP Road will be one-way from Ganesh Mandir to Ganeshguri Byover. Pir Azan Fakir Road will be one-way from Beltola Tiniali to Jayanagar Chariali.
Entry will be prohibited from Fatasil Chariali, Railway Gates 6, 7, 8, and Sati Jaymati Road. Besides, no goods-carrying vehicles will be allowed from Paltanbazar, Fanbazar, Fatasil, and Bharalumukh.
Additional traffic restrictions have been implemented in several areas of Guwahati. In the Panbazar police station jurisdiction, vehicles are prohibited from entering H.B. Road or Gate No. 4 from M.S. Road.
In the Chandmari and Gertanagar police station areas, entry from Anuradha Point to Hatigarh Chariali is restricted. In the Noonmati police station area, vehicles are only allowed to enter from Hatigarh Chariali.
Finally, in the Latasil police station area, vehicles are not permitted on F.C. Road between High Court Point and Latasil Chariali.

The modified routes for city buses are as follows: Basistha Mandir to Dharapur via Basistha Chariali, Khanapara Rotary, and GS Road. Adabari Bus Stand to Lalganesh via Maligaon Kachari, Chandmari flyover, and Zoo Road.
As per the guidelines, commercial vehicles with All Assam Tourist Permit will terminate at Adabari bus terminus or ISBT, Betkuchi, depending on their origin.
