Guwahati: Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and First Lady of Assam Kumud Devi along with the officers and staff of Raj Bhavan bade farewell to outgoing Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at a function held at Raj Bhavan premises on Thursday.
Governor Acharya congratulated Kataria on being appointed as the Governor of Punjab and also wished him the very best for all his future endeavours. He also said that under the able leadership and guidance of Kataria, Punjab would prosper and contribute to the development of the nation. He wished him a long and healthy life ahead.
Former Governor of Assam Gulab Chand Kataria, in his speech, said that his tenure in Assam was very fulfilling. He also said that the state has a rich history and its people are very cultured with high moral values. He also thanked Raj Bhavan officials for their unstinted support during his stay as Governor of Assam.
It may be mentioned that Kataria was appointed as Assam Governor on February 22, 2023 and served in this position for a year and seven months.
The function was attended by The First Lady of Assam Kumud Devi, former First Lady of Assam Anita Kataria, Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor SS Meenakshi Sundaram and officials and staff of Raj Bhavan.
