ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has announced that the Government Secondary School at Pachin in Itanagar has become India’s first 3D-printed educational institution.
The school, which had been destroyed by fire, was reconstructed using innovative 3D printing technology in just two months.
Taking to his X handle, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said, “Government Secondary School, Pachin, Itanagar, becomes India’s first 3D Printed School. Devoured by fire, the school was rebuilt in just two months!.”
Lauding all those involved in the innovative project, the chief minister said, “I heartily compliment everyone engaged in creating a watershed moment in our collective efforts to offer a cost-effective, sustainable, and rapid solution to the educational needs of our students.”
With the help of state-of-the-art facilities, we can make education more accessible to remote and underserved communities, Khandu said.
Notably, the construction industry is changing due to 3D printing making it cheaper and faster to construct buildings and other structures.
3D construction printing (3DCP or 3DP) refers to the automated process of manufacturing construction elements or entire structures using a 3D printer.
