Moirang: Union home minister Amit Shah on Friday hoisted the tallest national flag of Northeast India at Moirang in Manipur.
Amit Shah unfurled the 165 feet tall tri-colour which is the tallest national flag in region.
The union home minister hoisting the national flag at Moirang in Manipur assumes significance as the Indian National Army (INA) had hoisted the national flag for the first time on Indian soil on April 14, 1944 at Moirang.
Amit Shah on Friday also inaugurated the Churachandpur Medical College, the first medical college of Manipur outside the Imphal valley.
The Rs 46 crore new medical college will enroll 100 MBBS students during the current academic year.
