Imphal: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday evening arrived at Imphal in Manipur.
During his two-day visit, Amit Shah will inaugurate and lay foundation stone of several projects in Manipur.
Amit Shah was received at the airport on Thursday evening by Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh and union minister of state for External Affairs and Education R K Ranjan.
The union home minister on Friday will inaugurate the Churachandpur Medical College, the first medical college outside the Imphal Valley.
The Churachandpur Medical College is all set to start with 100 MBBS seats for the academic session 2022-2023.
Shah will inaugurate the 120 feet statue of a polo player riding a pony being developed at Heingang Marjing Hill in Imphal East district.
The home minister will also hoist the national flag at INA headquarters in Moirang in Bishnupur district.
Shah hoisting the national flag at Moirang assumes significance as the INA soldiers during the World War II had hoisted the Indian flag for the first time on Indian soil on April 14, 1944.
